Holding Henry

Molly continues to show affection towards her baby brother - making sure we know when he's crying (as if we couldn't tell) and petting him and saying "It's alright, Henry." Here she is holding him, which she loves to do whenever we let her.

She also loves playing with our cameras (maybe she even loves that more than she loves Henry - who knows?). Here's a shot she took of her adoring parents!

Henry, meanwhile, has woken up a bit more since his early weeks. He now typically has a sustained fussy period at least once a day, usually in the evening. He's nursing pretty well, though still not really on much of a regular schedule or for regular lengths of time at each nursing session, so that unpredictability can be frustrating. He also is really resisting taking a bottle. We have given him one bottle of pumped breast milk a day for the last three weeks, but he really doesn't like it and typically only takes 2-3 ounces, which takes about an hour. It's frustrating - Mommy certainly doesn't intend to nurse him for every feeding for the rest of his first year, so he'd better get over this!

Acorns

Molly is quite enamored of acorns. Which works out, since we have about 2 million of them in our yard. Here she is collecting them with Daddy and putting them into two liter bottles. They both filled up their bottles, and really only covered about 3 square feet in our front yard.

Note to the observant: I've added Henry's name to our banner. We've been calling him Henrydoodle, so I thought I'd make it official.

Halloween!

On the kid calendar, Halloween is a big deal. At Molly's age, we're just starting to get into the Halloween hype. We had a fabulous weekend. First and foremost, Molly and Henry's maternal grandparents came up to visit. They had been in Australia when Henry was born so they finally got to meet the little dude. We had a fun, though brief, visit. Here's Grandpa T. holding his new grandson:

Molly was very excited about the whole weekend. She dressed as a doggie this year, saying "Woof Woof!" and "I'm going to lick you!" Henry, at only a month old, went with a pumpkin theme.

The holiday weekend really started on Friday, with Molly's parade at her daycare. All the kids looked SO adorable, including a baby Michael Jackson, an adorable big-butted Nemo, and various princesses and superheroes. Here's our little puppy peering out among the other kids at the parade:

Then on Halloween day, we went to a fun party at some friends' house, where the kids got themselves all wound up in preparation for trick-or-treating. After the party, we went door-to-door with Molly and her best bud Izzy and her parents. The girls had a total blast, and were very excited to say "Trick or Treat!" at each door. After that, we all had dinner together, along with the grandparents, while the girls played and laughed before ending up in the inevitable pile of tears and screaming, the result of hours of fun and candy. What else could a kid ask for on Halloween?
