Grandparents and Sundoggie

We had a wonderful visit this past weekend from Molly's Grandparents T. (That's the parents on Mommy's side). They live far enough away that we let too much time go by between visits. Molly sure has changed a lot since Christmas! I, however, have not changed too much, in the sense that I forgot, as usual, to take any photos. I am awaiting photos that Grandpa took, so hopefully we'll post some of those soon. Molly impressed us all with her talkativeness and her amazing ability to put together real jigsaw puzzles - 24 piece interlocking jigsaw puzzles with pictures of Dora and Sesame Street characters on them. She's quite clever!

In order to get some photos on here, I thought I'd post a few funny ones from recent times. Molly used to be a great sleeper up until a week or two ago (nowadays she's sneaking out of bed all the time. Sigh). But a couple of weeks ago we decided to snap a photo of her splayed out in her bed fast asleep. This was at night (we used a flash, which didn't bother her a bit). She has quite an explosion of pink in her bed!

The other fairly recent occurrence is her beginning to name a few of her stuffed animals. So far she's really only named two. The Doberman dog toy she christened "Sundoggie" and the blue/yellow floppy doll she decided was to be named "Two" - after the number. She is getting pretty good at counting, I must say, though she often skips "ten" and goes right from "nine" to "eleben" as she says. Anyway, here's a shot of Molly cuddling with Sundoggie and Two, which were also both gifts from Grandma and Grandpa T.

Not-So-Breaking Baby News

This should not be news to the five or six readers of this blog, but Molly is going to become a big sister! I thought I might as well officially put it on the blog -- after all, nothing is real until it is on the Internet, right?

We are expecting our new addition at the end of October, so I am at the halfway point right now. These photos are from the actual day of the test at home (don't worry, we made sure the pee stick was nice and clean). The joy was short lived, since I got laid off four days later! But it's nice to see these pictures and think about how happy we are to be adding to our family, even if the timing turned out to be very tough.

All is going well so far with the pregnancy, and Molly is excited at the idea of being a big sister, even if she really has no idea what that all means. Let's hope she stays happy about it when reality sets in.

Paddle Boating on the Lake

We are lucky enough to live in a town with a lovely huge park, complete with a large lake. Every summer there is paddle boating available. We finally got to take Molly out on the boat! She enjoyed the scenery, which included large geese and many people fishing. She also liked munching on edamame beans (or "baby beans") in the boat, which is why her mouth looks funny in a few of these shots. But they all are adorable pictures from a lovely day.
