The Magic Word(s)

We are working on manners with Molly these days. Manners and a toddler aren't always a natural mix, but we're trying. We're pretty good about "please" and "thank you" - she whines and begs and demands, but we tell her "what do you say?" or "what's the magic word?" and she knows what to say. Though with her pronounciation, it comes out "Peas Dunk-oo" - all one phrase. It still doesn't come naturally to her; we have to remind her each time.

She also is getting into the imitation, big time. Daddy was doing a few pushups the other morning and Molly got down on the floor and tried to do them herself. She also merrily chirped "Crap" 10 times after Mommy slipped up and said it in front of her. Luckily she hasn't repeated it since.

The potty training, such as it is, is pretty much at a standstill. It's really too early anyway, but we still put her on the potty each day to get her in the habit. She hasn't produced much in the last couple of weeks. But she does love to grab the toilet paper and throw it in the bowl!

Happy Poo Year!

Molly ended 2008 and began 2009 in fine form. The highs: Using the potty successfully for the first time! She pooped twice and even peed once on the potty over the last week! Yay! The lows: Vomiting twice on New Year's Eve and again this morning. Oh well - we're all sick at home in bed today.

Christmas, Part 3

Finally, the holidays wrapped up with Christmas with the maternal grandparents, who came up to visit and see our new house. We had tons of fun and even went to the zoo on a particularly balmy day.

Christmas, Part 2

Finally back with some photos! Christmas Day proper was tons of fun. We woke up in our new home and enjoyed opening presents with Molly next to our very first tree. Then the rest of the day was spent with Daddy's extended family, including little cousins Molly's age. Photos below!

Molly is the best gift of all!
