We are in the midst of packing up our apartment and getting ready to move to a real live house. The place is therefore in disarray, and Molly, while for the most part in good spirits, does seem a bit cranky and disoriented and, well, spazzy as she runs around our apartment cluttered with boxes and debris everywhere. It's going to be a pretty big change in her life and we know it'll be a bumpy ride for a while. We expect her sleep to be disrupted for a bit during the move, and we'll probably have a few accidents on the stairs - she has never lived with a staircase before! Right now she's really getting to us with a lot of climbing on the dining room table.
We also are nervous about how we're going to fit all our stuff in our new home. It's actually much smaller than our apartment (we have a really big apartment) so we will have to make much use of our garage and basement. But we're looking forward to enjoying our yard next summer!
Wish us luck as we try to get through the next few weeks of packing and moving and reorganizing our entire lives. It's likely to be quiet on this site as we spend our time packing and unpacking. Tune in later for updates on life in the new home.

Yellow...?
Molly is getting better at communicating, learning new words and definitely understanding a lot more as well. She almost always understands what we're asking her to do (whether she does it is another matter). For instance, she fetches her own towel before bath time and she (sometimes) picks up her toys if you ask her to.
As for talking, she says "Muh" for milk, "Dawg" for dog, and "Dow" for down. "Dow" also means up, too, in her little kid logic. She is also increasingly interested in our cat Chippy, who she calls "Shishi." She's constantly pointing to Chippy, trying to pet her or pick her up, and always demanding that she get down off the dining room table if we're eating there. She's a better disciplinarian about that issue than we are!
Her other very common word is "yellow." Now, she has no idea about colors, and she's definitely not referring to anything yellow when she says it. From what I can tell, it's a further evolution of the word "elbow." She's loves pointing out elbows, and for a long while she pronounced it "bubow." But that seems to have evolved to "yellow." So... someday soon, the actual word "elbow" will come out. Or maybe she'll just start describing yellow things as "elbow."
